Posters of Protest: Women’s Rights Movements
9:30am–12:30pm
Join Poster House and New-York Historical Society for an on-site workshop at Poster House for Educators exploring the role of posters in historic and contemporary gender equity movements. Examining primary materials spanning a century of women’s rights activism, this workshop facilitates past-present connections and deepens understanding of historical contexts, using classroom-ready resources. Participants will end the session by creating their own poster, drawing inspiration from New-York Historical Society’s and Poster House’s collections. This activity can be widely adapted to add experiential learning to the classroom.
Poster House and New-York Historical Society are both NYSED-approved CTLE sponsors. Participants will receive 3 CTLE hours.
