Poster House’s Second Birthday!

Poster House is turning 2! To celebrate our second year of poster-filled exhibitions and programming, we will be open free of charge on July 10! 

Grab your friends and come see our current exhibitions and enjoy everything Poster House has to offer. Throughout the day, we’ll have guided tours, interactive activities, and sweet treats available in our Café. You can sign up for a free tour through the links below or reserve your free museum ticket here. We can’t wait to celebrate with you! 

Note: Covid safety protocols, including social distancing and masks, will be enforced throughout the day. Guided tours are offered free of charge but must be reserved in advance to ensure we comply with all safety regulations.

In Person Tour of Vera List & the Posters of Lincoln Center, 1pm 
Join Chief Curator Angelina Lippert for an in-depth look at our mini-exhibition Vera List & The Posters of Lincoln Center. Learn how Vera List’s generous donation to Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts created an amazing archive of posters made by the hottest contemporary artists of the time. 

In Person Tour of Freak Power, 2pm
Collections Manager Melissa Walker will take guests on a guided tour of our current exhibition Freak Power. Learn about Hunter S. Thompson’s bid to become sheriff of Aspen with Poster House’s resident political poster expert! 

In Person Tour of Julius Klinger: Posters For A Modern Age, 3pm
Join Chief Curator Angelina Lippert for an entertaining tour of Julius Klinger: Posters for a Modern Age, on loan to us from the Wolfsonian in Miami Beach, Florida. Get an in-depth look at the iconic, humorous, and quirky work of Julius Klinger, and learn how his posters shaped modern advertising.

Stop by our Poster History Timeline and make your very own commemorative button! Select a design and watch it get made in real time by our lovely staff. 

Live Screen Printing Demonstration with Mike King, 12–4pm
Print your very own limited-edition silkscreen poster with Mike King, the world’s most prolific gig poster artist! $10 includes the cost of materials and your commemorative poster.

Freak Power Poster Signing with Pablo Medina, 12–4pm
Love our Freak Power exhibition poster? Now’s your chance to meet the artist behind this incredible piece! Pablo Medina will be in our shop answering design questions and signing originals. Pablo is a graphic designer and artist who spends his time designing for cultural and NGO clients (including Taskforce/IntoAction, the MoMA, The New York Times, and Sneaker News) and making art in his studio at the Trestle Art Space in Brooklyn.
